Speaker Biographies
MICHAEL
CARLINER is the Staff Vice President for Economics at the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB). He is responsible for economic analysis
and forecasting, survey research, and analysis of government policies
affecting the housing industry. He has done extensive analysis of national
and regional housing markets and of related subjects such as demographic
trends, supplies of building materials, nonresidential construction, and
housing finance.
Prior to joining NAHB
in 1984, Mr. Carliner was Director of Regional Real Estate and Construction
Economics at Chase Econometrics. He has also served as Vice President
of Regional Data Associates and Senior Economist at Dynamics Associates.
Mr. Carliner studied Economics and Finance at the University of Pennsylvania,
where he was a Research Fellow.
